New Features

Optimization Workflow
The Optimization workflow is a powerful and efficient end-to-end workflow for pre-processing, solving, and post-processing. The optimization defines the optimization setup for the selected analysis. Use this option to create design variables for subsystem parameters and Boit material parameters. Select options to create design responses, constraints, and objectives for the user-defined load cases before submitting the optimization. You can save the complete optimization setup in a CSV file for review and reuse. Use the new post-processing utility to post-processes the optimization results.

  • You can now graphically select a subsystem during contouring.
  • Performance improvement when reading the results file.
  • You can now view the sensitivity of the run.
Tools
The High Frequency profile supports the MM-TON-SEC unit system.
SEAM can now read and apply user-defined NCTs and layered NCTs on both sides of a structural subsystems,with any combination.

Highlights

  • A new type of element formulation, “thick shell”, for Plate, Shell.
  • A new way of creating a Plate Subsystems using the element Sets.

New Features

Thick Shell Formulation
A thick shell formulation that uses the Mindlin type of assumptions (introduces the transversal shear effect and allows coupling between in-plane and out-of-plane waves). This formulation improves both the existing flat and singly curved shell models. It also allows you to create a doubly curved shell, which was not possible until now.
Creation of Plate Subsystems Using Element Sets
This feature helps you to create a Plate automatically from elemental sets from an FEM file, thereby reducing the time to create a Plate structural Subsystem.
Creation of a Doubly Curved Shell
This feature helps you to create a doubly curved shell by selecting a node and also by extracting the required parameter from the geometry.

Enhancements to improve the usability of the Chart Manager.
Tools
Enhancements to improve the usability of the Edit Subsystem feature.
