Component Naming Conventions

There are various types of components that need to be named in order to easily recognize them in VWT. You can move surface mesh elements to new or existing components using “Organize” panel.

1. Body – Organize surface mesh of non-slip wall regions included in the force calculations in separate components and append “Body” to their names (for example, Body_Hood, Body_Windshields, Body_Mirrors).
2. Wheels – Organize surface mesh of rotating regions in separate components and append “Wheels” in front of the component names (for example, Wheels_Tyres, Wheels_Rims).
3. Moving Reference Frame (MRF) – Organize surface mesh of regions that will be defined as rotational zones to separate components (for example, MRF_Fan).
4. Baffles - Organize surface mesh of regions which are open and fluid on both side of those regions into separate components and append “Baffle” to components names (for example,“Baffle_wheel wells”).
5. Porous Media – Organize inlets, outlets and walls of Porous region and name them as HX-Inlet, HX-Outlet.
