Definitions
Field | Contents | SI Unit Example |
---|---|---|
ID | Each
FATDEF card must have a unique
ID. FATDEF
Subcase Information Entry may reference this
ID. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
TOPSTR | Top
stress fraction. Elements with combined stress not
in this top fraction of each MATFAT group
will be screened out and have no results. This
field is ignored in fatigue analysis on a
transient subcase. Default = blank (100% will be used internally), (0.0 < Real ≤ 1.0) |
|
ELSET | Indicates that a list of pairs of ELSET and PFAT/PFATSPW IDs will follow, defining elements, and their associated fatigue properties, for consideration in fatigue analyses where this FATDEF is selected. | |
ELSID# | Element set ID. Elements in this set will be
considered in fatigue analyses where this
FATDEF is selected. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
PFATID# | Fatigue property ID. This is the identification number of a PFAT entry, which indicates the fatigue property used by the preceding elements defined by ELSID# or PID#. | |
PFATSPWID# | Fatigue property ID for spot weld fatigue analysis. This is the identification number of a PFATSPW entry, which indicates the fatigue property used by the preceding elements defined by ELSID# or PID#. | |
PTYPE | Indicates that a list of pairs of property IDs of type PTYPE and PFAT/PFATSPW IDs will follow; defining elements and their associated fatigue properties for consideration in fatigue analyses where this FATDEF is selected. 2 | |
PID# | Property ID. This is the identification number of
a property entry corresponding to the specified
PTYPE field. Elements
referencing any property with this ID will be
considered in fatigue analyses where this
FATDEF is selected. 3 No default (Integer > 0) |
|
FATSEAM | Indicates that the list of pairs of FATSEAM ID's and PFATSMW ID's are to follow and these will be used for seam weld fatigue analysis. | |
FATSEAM ID# | References a FATSEAM Bulk Data Entry that contains parameters and property identification information for seam weld fatigue analysis. | |
PFATSMW ID# | Fatigue property ID for seam weld fatigue analysis. This is the identification number of a PFATSMW entry, which indicates the fatigue property used by the preceding elements defined by ELSID# or PID#. | |
XELSET | Indicates that IDs of elements sets excluded from fatigue analysis follow. | |
XELSID# | Element set ID. Elements in these sets will be
excluded from fatigue analyses where this
FATDEF is selected. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
XELEM | Indicates that IDs of elements excluded from fatigue analysis follow. | |
XEID# | Element ID. These elements will be excluded from
fatigue analyses where this
FATDEF is selected. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
XGSET | Indicates that IDs of grid sets excluded from fatigue analysis follow. | |
XGSID# | Grid
set ID. Grids in these sets will be excluded from
fatigue analyses where this
FATDEF is selected. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
XGRID | Indicates that IDs of Grids excluded from fatigue analysis follow. | |
XGID# | Grid
ID. These Grids will be excluded from fatigue
analyses where this FATDEF is
selected. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
FATSDR | Optional continuation line for solder fatigue analysis. | |
FATSDR ID | Identification number of a
FATSDR Bulk Data Entry that
defines a solder joint. No default (Integer > 0) |
|
PFATSDR ID | Identification number of a
PFATSDR Bulk Data Entry that
defines fatigue properties for solder fatigue
analysis. No default (Integer > 0) |
Comments
- At least one of the optional continuation lines ELSET or PROP must be present.
- PTYPE can
be set as one of PSHELL,
PSOLID, PWELD,
PBAR, PBARL,
PBEAM, or PBEAML to
represent that the corresponding property ID's
(PID# fields) are to follow.Note: That PWELD, PBAR, PBARL, PBEAM, or PBEAML references for PTYPE field are supported only for spot weld fatigue analysis. Additionally, for spot weld fatigue analysis, PFATSPWID# fields should reference corresponding PFATSPW entries.
- The PID# field should reference the property entry of the same type as the corresponding PTYPE.
- This card is represented as a load collector in HyperMesh.
