New Features

Perform Ffwocs Williams and Hawkings (FW-H) Analysis for Computational Aeroacoustics
Prepare the FW-H set of inputs that define the acoustic source (output from an ultraFluidX simulation) and target microphone locations to compute airborne noise propagation. The tool will generate the associated input files to be run external to HMCFD, using the FW-H calculation tool provided in the HWCFDSolvers (uFX, Linux distribution).
Optimized memory usage for advanced flow visualization of Q-Criterion and Vorticity
When the option to compute gradient-based variables upon dataset read is selected, the dataset will be modified to include the computation of the velocity gradient of each velocity component and each coordinate to produce a tensor array 3x3 of the gradient field. One or more derived fields will be appended to the dataset to include Vorticity, Q-criterion, and/or Lambda2.
Increased user feedback for the signal processing tool and ability to compute area-weighted SPL
The signal processing tool has been enhanced to provide more feedback to the user during the computation process. The status bar will provide a percentage complete as the GSP sub-process operates within the background of the application. When the computation is completed, the area-weighted sound pressure level will be written to a text file for the requested frequency bands.
Enhanced automation capabilities for external aerodynamics
The HMCFD Report tool has been enhanced with the ability to append multiple reports into one PowerPoint presentation, compare results in a sequential or side-by-side view, export derived representations to .csv or .h3d files, tabulated uFX summary data, and seed streamlines from a user-defined file.

  • Update to the latest PV.
  • Add the file path and file name when the user hovers over the dataset name.
  • Modify the highlight of selected entities, set toggle highlight to off by default.
  • Add extents (min/max) to control the boundaries of a slice plane animation.
  • Automatic Legend placement in HM-CFD post.
  • Global legend manager, the list of fields should be ordered.
  • Added x, y, and z variables in the Intersection curve tool.

Resolved Issues

  • Export to Image, overwrite file caused error and unresponsive session (Linux Only).
  • Info dialog showed incorrect values for x, y, z.
  • Point probe: no visual representation of the point.
  • Save .cpstate on Linux did not automatically create a file with the extension.
