FE Geometry

Draping

Drape simulation.

Drape simulation provides corrections to the nominal ply fiber direction (orientation) and thickness. These corrections are reflected in drape tables assigned to ply entities. Methods available in HyperMesh are:

Kinematic Draping - provides most accurate results. OptiStruct, Radioss, Nastran, Abaqus, ANSYS, and LS-DYNA. For more information, see Kinematic Drape.
Import from external source - draping results can be imported directly from FiberSim. For more information, see FiberSim Reader.
